A local guide that actually keeps up

How it works

Every morning we read dozens of public calendars (cities, libraries, chambers of commerce and venues) and public records like sales tax permits, liquor license filings, certificates of occupancy and health inspections. Then we merge duplicates, sort everything into categories, and publish this site.

That's why the events calendar has the library storytime and the boat parade.

What we don't do

• We don't copy event descriptions or reviews from other sites. We link back to the source so you get the latest details from the organizer.
• We don't scrape Google, Yelp or social networks. For reviews and hours, every listing links to Google Maps.
• We don't sell placement. Picks are editorial.

The app and your privacy

BayAreaTX for iPhone carries the same guide, plus calendar adds and Passport stamps. Neither the site nor the app has accounts, ads or tracking; our privacy policy spells out the rest.

Fixes and suggestions

Spot something wrong, or want your event or business listed? We're building a way for owners and organizers to send updates. Until then, the data comes from these public sources, so correcting it there fixes it here too.
